ASNT is pleased to announce the 2023 Faces of NDT. These individuals will represent and promote the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) and nondestructive testing (NDT) to the world.

Joining Brent Moulton, who continues in this role, are four new Faces of NDT: Muriel Magloire, Eddie Pompa, Jose Santo, and Annabel Sebuc Sab-it.

While traveling to industry events, these spokespersons will showcase NDT methods, share their enthusiasm for the industry, promote ASNT, and motivate others to pursue a career in NDT.

“We were thrilled to have received so many quality responses to our call for the Faces of NDT,” said Garra Liming, ASNT Director of Marketing Communications. “As representatives of NDT, ASNT is looking forward to having them on board to bring in the next generation.”

“When I learned that ASNT was looking for someone to be the Face of NDT, I knew it was my turn to carry the torch,” said Muriel Magloire. “I want little girls and other women to see me as the realization of their dreams to exist in unfamiliar spaces because visualization is powerful. Long before it was trending on social media and before it was a Netflix category, I understood that representation matters.”

Magloire is a Nondestructive Test Examiner with the US Department of Defense. In 2018, she joined her son in attending Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina, and they graduated with matching associate of applied science degrees in nondestructive examination (NDE) technology. Today she is trained in accordance with SNT-TC-1A in visual testing (VT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), magnetic particle testing (MT), electromagnetic testing (ET), and ultrasonic testing (UT).

Magloire served as chair of the North Carolina Student Section of ASNT when she was completing her NDE degree, which afforded her the opportunity to meet countless professionals in the industry and helped to broaden her view of the many opportunities that NDE has to offer. In the brief amount of time that Magloire has been in the industry, she has become vastly aware of the great benefit of being a member of ASNT

Currently, Magloire works closely with welders and machinists in supporting the maintenance of aircraft carriers and submarines. Her love for air travel fuels her aspiration to gain experience with NDE in aerospace.

Sharing a Rewarding Career

Brent Moulton has been a Face of NDT since 2021. In that time, he has represented ASNT and NDT to the community at large providing insight and knowledge into the world of NDT.

“What I enjoy most about the Faces of NDT program is being able to get out and share a truly rewarding career with individuals who may have never heard about NDT,” Moulton said. “It’s an added joy when they realize how much nondestructive testing has already played such a crucial part in their life already.”

Moulton specializes in UT, RT, eddy current testing, MT, PT, and specialized rope access inspections. His certifications include ASNT NDT Level III in MT; Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel; Level II in UT, RT, ET, VT, and PT; and IRATA Level 1.

He is an active ASNT member and serves as the chair of the Technical and Education (T&E) Council’s Technicians Resource Development Committee and is an active member of the T&E Council and Standards Council.

Annabel Sebuc Sab-it

Annabel Sebuc Sab-it is the NDT Level III and production area manager at MOOG, Baguio Philippines Facility. She received her first ASNT NDT Level III certification in 2012—the seventh person to be ASNT certified in the Philippines and the second woman. She is an ASNT NDT Level III in MT and PT and is an NDT Level III per EN 4179 and NAS 410.

Sebuc Sab-it entered the field of NDT by chance, studying NDT engineering technology at the Technological University of the Philippines-Taguig Campus. She began working as an ultrasonic inspector and then became an NDT inspector after obtaining a BS in mechanical engineering. In 2017, Sebuc Sab-it became production area manager for the special process department that includes NDT, chemical processing, heat treatment, carburizing, and high velocity oxygen fuel coating. During this time, she held ASNT NDT Level III certification and also managed the assembly and test and machining area.

“I am excited to be one of ASNT’s Faces of NDT because I want to help the Society represent women in NDT and show that woman can do nondestructive testing, make progress in their careers, and excel in the field,” Sebuc Sab-it said. “I want to influence the younger generation to be in NDT and later contribute to a safer world.”

Now, with 15 years of service at MOOG Philippines, she also supports many Nadcap, Boeing, and corporate audits, and other customer and regulatory audits.

One Response

  1. Congratulations ASNT for this action about nominations of faces of NDT & publishing this article for the ASNT members. This would definitely take ASNT to more people & institutions beyond the current ones & also the other passive members would think of being part of the movement sometime or the other. Nice work.Pl.keep it up..
