ASNT is here to help you with your 2021 job search.

The ASNT Career Center, launched in June 2020, was developed to serve the needs of many constituents: those discovering potential careers in NDT, professionals already in NDT looking to advance, and those who are looking to hire staff with varying degrees of NDT expertise.

The Career Center allows job seekers to create candidate profiles, post resumes, apply for open positions, and access career resources, such as resume writing and interviewing tips. It also provides organizations serving the NDT industry the ability to find and hire desirable candidates for their open positions.

In addition, ASNT offers webinars as part of the Professional Development Series.

Professional Development Webinars

The ASNT career center is providing this resume writing course to help those looking for a career in NDT.

ASNT’s Professional Development Series features free webinars designed to assist those looking for a new role.

In partnership with Idaho Next Steps Coaching, LLC, ASNT is offering the third in the series, Resumes & Cover Letters: Overcoming ATS and Modern Challenges, on 26 January 2021. (Registration is required.)

In this program, attendees will learn how to overcome the computer element hurdle—ATS (Application Tracking Systems)—to land an interview. In addition, you’ll learn how resume standards have changed and the importance of keeping your resume fresh, updated, and focused.

The objectives are:

  • To learn about ATS and potential roadblocks
  • To understand what works and what doesn’t (the new résumé standards)
  • To tell your professional story in two pages or less
  • And learn to write cover letters

ASNT is here to help you focus your job search efforts and land your dream job. Top industry employers are looking for leading talent for their open jobs—many of which are posted on ASNT’s job board.

(Recordings of the previous webinars in the series will be available online soon.)

Top Five Job Tips for Landing Your Dream Job in 2021

1. Update your resume. At least once a year, review and update your resume to include recent accomplishments, newly acquired skills, and current job titles.
2. Apply to five jobs a week. Use job search filters to find new positions each week. Create a job alert to have newly posted jobs sent directly to your inbox.
3. Setup a mock interview. Whether it’s with the mirror, a housemate, or a professional job coach, take time to practice answering the most commonly asked interview questions.
4. Increase your online presence. Share relevant content on your professional channels, like topical articles and jobs you aren’t applying for. This will keep you in the news feeds and minds of your professional colleagues.
5. Make five new professional connections. Ask new contacts about their jobs and company to develop a relationship. Leverage these contacts as references or referrals when the time is right.
