Leaders can make it psychologically unsafe to speak up, can apply excessive pressure to reach unrealistic performance targets, or not set a good example. NDT to Evaluate Crevice Corrosion Initiation Sites in Alloy Pipe and Tubing

Certain nondestructive testing methods should be performed on material entering service to evaluate potential crevice corrosion initiation sites. This article focuses on crevice corrosion sites in the form of jaw marks produced during make-up of threaded pipe, inspection and evaluation of these initiation sites, and how to prevent them from acting as corrosion sites.
